'Everybody will be watching'

In the outskirts of Atlanta, where Marcus Ball lived, the remote control always stopped and parked on Florida State-Miami. In the Eastern parts of North Carolina, where Everette Brown lived, the game was must-see TV.

In the shadows of Knoxville, Tenn., in the house where Brandon Warren grew up, FSU-Miami trumped even the hometown Vols and ruled the airwaves. In Preston Parker's living room in Delray Beach, two young boys picked sides and watched the Seminoles and Hurricanes duke it out every year.
