NU Notes: Mann most likely out for Nicholls State

The Nebraska football team will most likely be without the service of their most experienced starter on the offensive side of the ball.

NU head coach Bill Callahan said after Thursday's practice that senior offensive lineman Kurt Mann will most likely be held out of Saturday's Nicholls State game do to a viral infection.

Callahan said that Mann hasn't practiced this entire week, but he did come out and watch practice for the first time on Thursday.

"We probably will not play Kurt Mann right now," Callahan said. "It looks doubtful and he has a little bit of an infection and virus that's going on. We're going to give him a couple of days and back him down to see if he can get better."

Callahan said at this time the injury doesn't appear to be anything that should affect Mann's status for next week's USC game.
