Five questions with BOL's Travis Reier

The Alabama Crimson Tide is 2-0 after wins against Hawaii and Vanderbilt, but fans are a little uneasy about the way the team has performed so far. So BamaOnLine fielded some questions from our loyal subscribers to ask senior writer and expert Travis Reier.

Here is what Travis had to say...

Q: Why haven't Roy Upchurch and Terry Grant not had any carries when Kenneth Darby is obviously struggling to run the ball? Is there a doghouse issue, is he hurt, or are we just focusing on getting Darby getting going? Is it perhaps the pursuit of the rushing record?

Q: How long will the Alabama coaches last in regards to the sub-par play at right tackle before they pull the string on Chris Capps and Kyle Tatum? Who do you believe the staff would go with as a replacement?

TR: ........................

Q: Who are we mainly looking at for next year to ultimately fill the other tackle position? Do you believe we have one that can play up to SEC competition?

TR: ..........................

Q: With a lot of young, promising guys on the OL, who are the most likely players to be switched from the OL to the DL by next year to improve the quality and depth of this unit?

TR: ........................

Q: Why havent we seen more rollouts and bootlegs inside the redzone, maybe with play-action fakes? Is it because we are saving them for stronger teams on our schedule? What steps does our offense need to take to improve our redzone scoring?

TR: ..........................

Q: Can the trio of Taylor Pharr, David Ross , and Alex Stadler one day be as good as Wesley Britt, Justin Smiley, and Evan Mathis after their redshirt years?

TR: ........................

What seniors do you see making it to the NFL next season and which of our juniors could make the jump to the pros?

TR: ..................

With Jimmy Johns' and Darby's running style being so different, Johns' being a downhill runner and Darby a shifty, make you miss guy, do you see Shula adjusting they way we run block for each? And is one style easier for our o-line to block for than the other?
