Stanford has to be creative against ASU
After Arizona's dismantling of Stanford last Saturday, it automatically became apparent that the Cardinal are going to have to win games based on their defense. However, that is not necessarily a good thing for Stanford, as the defense has been nothing short of bad thus far this season.
Stanford has a chance to put up some points against the Sun Devils but their best chance may be to force Rudy Carpenter into bad situations. If he has shown anything this season, it is that he does not seem to handle pressure well and can be forced into making some bad throws.
Luckily for the Sun Devils, it seems they have a legitimate rushing attack in Ryan Torain. Then again, it seems as if every team that Stanford faces will be able to mount a solid rushing attack as the Cardinal have proven to have one of the worst rushing defenses in the nation.
