Powercats of the Game: Archer & Diles

Kansas State coach Ron Prince regularly talks about the importance of generating a pass rush, and the Wildcats believed doing so was particularly important against Bret Meyer and Iowa State last Saturday. Linebackers Brandon Archer and Zach Diles were able to apply that pressure in K-State's 31-10 win over the Cyclones, as the duo combined for 22 tackles and three sacks.

"We just got in (Meyer's) face pretty much all day. We were able to get in there and make some plays," Diles said. "They came out to play hard today, but we were able to get back to assignment defense and play hard, too.

"We knew he was a good athlete when he was rolling out to his right, so we wanted to eliminate that," Diles added. "We put a couple things in for that, but it was basically our base defense and getting after it."
