Sophomore Kyle Moore, began 2006 with the hope of becoming USC's starting weakside defensive end.
However, with the advent of the 3-4 defense, Moore's playing time has been greatly reduced. Making the most of his opportunities, Moore helped the defensive line have one of its most impressive performances of the season against Oregon.
On his official visit to USC two years ago, Moore struck up a friendship with then freshman defensive end Lawrence Jackson. Close ever since, Jackson helped Moore deal with the transition of moving from Warner Robins (Ga.) To Los Angeles.
Set to follow in Jackson's footsteps on the field, Moore was happy to see his former roommate have a break out game against Oregon.
"It was about that time for him to get those sacks," said Moore of Jackson's performance. "He was in a slump the whole year, but he studies film real hard, and last week he asked me if I studied my film."
