Five-star Curtis Brown talks about his visit

One of the more exciting additions from this year's Texas Longhorn recruiting class is Gilmore, Texas five-star athlete Curtis Brown. Brown's arrival in the spring will provide a serious boost to the cornerback depth for the Longhorns.

However, if Brown had his way, his January arrival would get bumped up by a few weeks because after taking his official visit to the 40 Acres this weekend, this future Longhorn is ready to get started right now.

"Everything was just great," Brown replied when asked about his weekend in Austin. "I really didn't want to leave. I wanted to stay."

One of the things that really pleased Brown was the immediate chemistry that his recruiting class had with the current members of the team.

"We hung out with everyone this weekend," Brown said. "The freshman class from this year really treated us well, like we're already on the team."

One thing that the Longhorns didn't do much of this weekend was talk about plans for next year. Even with brown scheduled to arrive next month, the Texas staff wanted Brown to focus on meeting his future teammates and building on the strong feelings that Brown already had for his future school.

"We really didn't talk about that," Brown replied when asked about what the staff had told him about being a player that could contribute as a true freshman. "I know that I'm going to have to come in and work hard if I want to contribute next year. I'm just ready to get down there and get to work."

Finally, when asked if he had seen everything this weekend that he had hoped to see, Brown replied, "Yes sir, it was everything I thought it would be."
