Gettis visits Iowa City
Future Hawkeye Adam Gettis made his official visit to Iowa City this weekend. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Gettis, who verbally committed to Iowa three weeks ago, said everything went well on the two-day trip.
Iowa sophomore offensive lineman Dace Richardson served as Gettis' host on the weekend. According to the two-star prospect, the two players actually met on the playing field a couple years ago when Gettis was a freshman at Lincoln-Way East and Richardson a junior at Wheaton Warrenville South in high school.
Gettis, who had received interest as both an offensive lineman and defensive end throughout the recruiting process, had the chance to talk with the Iowa coaching staff about his college position this weekend.
In committing to Iowa earlier this month, Gettis chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Iowa State, Central Michigan, and Northern Illinois, among others. According to the two-star prospect, the visit to Iowa City this weekend reaffirmed his decision.
