UCLA close to naming OC

It appears that the Bruins have landed one of the hottest assistant coaches going for their new offensive coordinator. It is being reported that Nebraska offensive coordinator/quarterback coach Jay Norvell will be announced as UCLA's new offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.

Like last year's five-star hire, Dewayne Walker, Norvell has NFL experience.

Norvell was part of an Oakland Raider staff that led the NFL in yards per game averaging 390 yards per game. The passing game is his specialty and he was a key component in developing Oakland's 279.7 yards passing a game in 2002 the last year the Raiders made it to the Super Bowl.
