Jersey loaded with linebackers for '08

New Jersey used to be the breeding ground for top football talent for teams outside of the Garden State.

That has changed since the arrival of Greg Schiano at Rutgers and the terrific job he has done in his tenure with the Scarlet Knights program. One of the reasons Schiano has been so successful has been his ability to convince the state's best players to play for Rutgers.

Due to Rutgers' recent recruiting surge in its own state, other teams have also had to step up their own efforts to pull in those recruits.

Penn State has already begun an all out recruitment of Roxbury's Brendan Beal. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior linebacker was visited last week by a member of the Nittany Lion coaching staff.
