Signing Class '07 - Quarterbacks
Next year Southern Miss will graduate two senior signal callers, and that will leave a huge void at the QB position. With Martevious Young as the only scholarshipped quarter-back returning, it was a must for the Eagles to make a statement. Coach Jeff Bower and his staff stepped up and hit a home run in this department. The Eagles signed not one, but two quality quarter-backs in the '07 class.
The highest ranked QB in the class was rivals.com three star prospect Randy Hardin from Bolles (Jacksonville, Fla.). Hardin is the most highly decorated signal caller to sign with the Eagles in a number of years. As a senior Hardin led Bolles to a 14-0 record and a Class 2A State Title. He finished his senior season with 3,257 passing yards for 32 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He competed for every major prep football award in the state. Named Class 2A Player of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers. Chosen to the Florida Sportswriters Class 2A All-State first team. Named Class 2A State Player of the Year. Finished third in Mr. Football competition in Florida.
