Sideline Video: Samuel is a special ATH
The University of Georgia picked up a verbal commitment from 2008 athlete Richard Samuel in January. Samuel held offers from Florida, Clemson, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and other major programs before deciding to stay home and play for the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs got a special athlete that could line up on either side of the ball in Athens. Check out this exclusive video that UGASports.com shot of Samuel last fall.
Prospect: Richard Samuel
High School: Cass (Cartersville, Ga.)
Position: Athlete (RB/LB)
Vitals: 6-1, 211-pounds, 4.47
Offers: Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and others.
Favorites: Committed to Georgia.
The Skinny: Samuel is a very gifted athlete that can take it the house as a running back or make plays from sideline to sideline as a linebacker. He could play either position at UGA and play it very well. He has great speed, great strength, and an even more impressive work ethic. He is only 15-years old, so he is still growing. It will be interesting to see where he plays in Athens, but it will be hard for Coach Richt to put him in a bad position. Samuel is just too talented.
UGASports.com traveled to Sandy Creek last fall to film Samuel and went down early with an ankle sprain. He tried to play through it, but his coaches decided to hold him out in the second half.
He may not have played four quarters, but we still have over 15-clips of him in action on offense and defense. You see speed, strength, quickness, and a play-maker in this film.
