Spring preview: It's Keller's time to shine at QB
No player will be counted on more this spring to make an immediate impact than senior quarterback Sam Keller.
After transferring from Arizona State to Nebraska last August, Keller now finds himself less than two weeks away from the most pivotal stretch of football he's faced in quite some time.
Keller will enter spring practice this month with the hopes of not only winning the NU starting quarterback job, but the respect of his Husker teammates.
Two year ago, former starting quarterback Zac Taylor earned the respect of the team during the months of March and April. Taylor took countless shots in a live scrimmage the week before the Red-White game where he was sacked four times by defensive end Jay Moore alone.
On top of that, Taylor also battled through spring practice for an entire week with the flu. The Saturday scrimmages of week two and three of spring practice laid down the foundation for Taylor's career.
On the flipside, former Nebraska quarterback Harrison Beck couldn't deliver when the bullets were live in a Saturday spring scrimmage last April.
