SoCal QB has skills

California is known for quarterbacks and this recruiting season there will be plenty of golden arm nuggets that recruitneks will discover and talk about one of them is Colby Cameron (6-3.5, 180, 4.8) from Newbury Park, Calif.

Newbury Park has had a nice track record for developing quarterbacks going back to Wayne Cook who played his college ball at UCLA and Keith Smith who was a standout at Arizona.

Arizona State starting quarterback Rudy Carpenter played his first three years of high school before moving out of the area for his senior season.

Cameron earned first-team all-league as a junior and was second-team all-county quarterback behind Notre Dame freshman quarterback Jimmy Clausen after hitting on 195 passes out of 384 attempts for 2,398 yards, 23 touchdowns against 14 interceptions.

Cameron's current quarterback coach is former Detroit Lion quarterback Bob Gagliano.
