Pullman Practice Report - Day Five

Amidst all the news of Tony Bennett's contract being extended, the WSU football team remained on schedule and churned out a practice after a day off due to the snow.

The deep ball was the focal point of the practice, with quarterbacks Alex Brink, Gary Rogers and Cole Morgan chucking bombs to the team's receivers.

Like in game situations, the deep ball in practice had no effect or was either extremely effective or an interception. In this practice, all three happened.

Making catch after catch was Michael Bumpus, who reeled in a deep ball from Alex Brink in addition to making countless catches over the middle. Brandon Gibson, who sits right behind Bumpus in the depth chart, was a mere four inches away from catching a 40-yard pass from Brink.

On another play, Brink tried to find Benny Ward down the left sideline but was intercepted by Xavier Hicks.
