Walker from the West

Christchurch (Va.) wide receiver Deion Walker is an East Coast kid with West Coast ties.

Half of his childhood was spent in Oxnard (Calif.), where he was raised before moving to North Carolina and then Virgina. Following USC and Florida State from both coasts, his recent scholarship offer from the Trojans was a dream realized.

"When I first got the offer, I was at a loss for words," said Walker. "Actually, when I first found out, I just hugged some random kid at school. I was really excited, and a lot of people who heard that USC offered were telling me that I have to go there. It was crazy."

While his written scholarship from the Trojans came last week, Walker was verbally offered a scholarship by USC running backs coach, Todd McNair, two weeks ago.
