STILLWATER - Coach Mike Gundy said Monday's practice was among the worst his team has had during Oklahoma State's spring camp, but Wednesday was much better.
"They started full speed and they finished full speed with a nice goal line stand at the end of practice," Gundy said. "Guys showed up and really made some nice plays."
Wednesday's practice was one of four remaining until the annual Orange & White Game on April 14, and Gundy said he's been encouraged by the team's progress so far
"As a team, we're further ahead than I thought we'd be this spring," Gundy said. "Defensively, we still have a ways to go. We have to learn terminology and we have to learn to play the system, but our effort is further along."
Before last year's spring game, Gundy said he would have like drafting two teams, but the Cowboys' depth at the time prevented that.
Instead, Gundy pitted OSU's first-string units against the second-string units and made up for the difference in talent by spotting points to the second-string team.
Gundy said he's still trying to decide on how to divvy the teams up this year, but that he has three options in mind.
