Recruiting Elite 11 - Defense
This list is based purely on our opinion and various prospect updates, and does not represent the opinion of Florida State, or anybody associated with the Seminole football program. The Elite 11 is based both on a recruit's ranking and their interest in Florida State (both are weighed equally). Recruits showing little interest in FSU are not included. This is just a preview of some of the names that fans should pay attention to when keeping up with who could make up Florida State's 2008 recruiting class.
Defense: Starting 11
Defensive Tackle Brandon Thompson
Thomasville (GA) Thomasville
Weight: 285 pounds
40-time: 5.3 seconds
What you need to know: Thompson attended the Tallahassee NIKE Camp in late April and was impressive. Thompson displays great strength as he squats over 600 pounds and bench-presses 385 pounds. Clemson was considered the early leader for Brandon Thompson but as he has gotten more offers he has admitted a willingness to look around. Florida State is one of his most recent offers and the 'Noles have really turned up the heat as of late. Thompson intends to make his decision early on in the process, likely after making some unofficial visits to his favorites over the summer. He should have no problem qualifying as he currently has a 3.3 GPA.
The competition: Clemson, Georgia, and Alabama
