Things holding steady for La. QB

After being displaced to Bastrop High by Hurricane Katrina, Randall Mackey helped lead his team to two 4A state titles, passing for more than 3,500 yards and 50 touchdowns in two seasons. Several schools have kept an eye on him with three of those institutions extending offers. Going into the summer camp season, however, he remains wide open.

According to Mackey, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana-Monroe all extended early offers and all three visited Bastrop this spring. While measuring in at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, his coach, Brad Bradshaw stated in an earlier interview that quarterback was his only position. Mackey, however, appears to be a little more flexible.
