ANALYSIS: USC Rising Star Camp
LOS ANGELES- There were plenty of outstanding performances during Thursday's USC Rising Star Camp on the campus of the University of Southern California. The following is a look at some of the top performers at the event, which annually features some of top prospects in California and the country.
The two Trojans offensive line commits, five-star tackle Matt Kalil and four-star tackle Matt Meyer were outstanding.
On Kalil, he's extremely polished. He has good technique, excellent footwork and effortlessly knows where he is going and what to do. The way he feels the game is advanced for a high school offensive lineman. What is even greater that that, however, is his toughness and tenacity. He's not afraid to get aggressive and finished off several blocks in a nasty manner on Thursday. There are countless examples of big, athletic offensive linemen who have all the tools physically, but zero mental make-up. Kalil isn't one of them.
