Crist shines at California 7-on-7

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Notre Dame quarterback commit Dayne Crist was one of several highly-touted Division I-A prospects that competed at the Saugus "Under the Lights" 7-on-7 passing tournament on Friday at Santa Clarita's Central Park.

Crist showed outstanding decision-making ability as he led his team up and down the field. He sees the field well, is an accurate passer that throws a ball his receivers can catch and knows his offensive system like it is second-hand.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Elite 11 selection will be an excellent fit at Notre Dame, where his skills can be put to great use under the tutaledge of head coach Charlie Weis. Crist's talents mesh well with Weis pro-style scheme, which is based around imaginative playcalling that attacks defenses. If he develops as expected in South Bend, he has NFL written all over him.
