Monday morning camp notes

After a closed Saturday scrimmage and Sunday off, Arizona's Fall Camp resumed on Monday morning for the second scheduled two-a-day. Here are some notes from the practice.

  • Ex-San Diego Mesa Community College wide receiver Derick Barkum was finally cleared and in uniform on Monday. Per NCAA practice rules, he can't wear full pads yet, but when we got there he was in his uniform throwing a football around with a couple other wideouts.

  • UA quarterback commit Matt Scott and his father arrived in town for an unofficial visit. They got to practice in time for 11-on-11's.

  • Before 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 started, the emphasis was on punt return coverage. Antoine Cason and Mike Thomas took turns returning the punts and head coach Mike Stoops was heavily involved in the drill.
