Williams makes his mark

Bryan Bossard can thank LaQuan Williams for the bags under his eyes and the crick in his back.

Really.

The Terps' receivers coach had to sleep in his office, on the floor, because of him.

Williams, the upstart redshirt freshman receiver, has been a revelation in camp, forcing Ralph Friedgen to shake up his lineup in order to get him on the field.

But he has been a pain in Bossard's, err, backside.

Williams, while shining on the field and bumping junior incumbent Isaiah Williams from the top 'Z' spot so far in camp, couldn't pass his camp conditioning test. In fact, he is the Terps first receiver in modern years not to be able to do so.

It took Williams four days before he finally nailed it, with testing for receivers 12 100's under 15 minutes. Because he had to keep coming in at 6 AM to test, his position coach, Bossard, had to be there, too.
