Tailback Notebook: The Great Divide

The Trojan stable enters the third quarter of fall camp with six horsemen leading the charge for playing time.

As Monday marked the first official one-a-day practice, it was a day of rejuvenation as the Trojans donned helmets and shoulder pads for the second consecutive practice.

Monday's practice brought the first signs of a divide as the offense and defense broke into first, second, and scout team groups. Although preliminary, these groups are a result of fall camp's first half production, and gives insight to the potential depth chart, as the Trojans begin closing the final two quarters of fall camp.

The first team rotation consisted of (in numerical order) Chauncey Washington, C.J Gable, and Stafon Johnson, and the second team rotation highlighted Allen Bradford, Desmond Reed, and Johnson.

Johnson and Reed received reps in both groups. The injured Joe McKnight watched closely from the sideline, as he will find himself entrenched somewhere within the first and second team.
