Fall camp: Defensive grades

The Duke Blue Devils' offense returns all of its playmakers from 2006. The defense, on the other hand, enters the '07 season with a few more question marks after losing six starters from the unit. The team, however, does return some very key players to the squad.

Throughout camp, there has been a lot of emphasis on teaching technique and getting players to understand their roles. Through the final day of camp, the Blue Devil staff feels good about the progression of the team over the last several weeks. With that in mind, Devils Illustrated will offer up grades for the defense so far in the preseason.


The defensive line enters the season with a player that perhaps could finish the season as one of the ACC's top tackles in Vince Oghobaase. Though he is coming off of a knee injury, the big 6-foot-6, 300 pounder is looking healthy and ready to go for his sophomore season.
