Oku has a big day against Booker T.

He may only be entering his junior season but people are running out of superlatives for Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert running back David Oku. The 5-foot-10, 176-pound Oku opened his junior season for 5A's reigning champions last night against their lone tormentor from the 2006 season, Tulsa's mighty Booker T. Washington.

However, it didn't take long for Oku to take the 'might' out of Booker T's defensive fight.

In just two possessions Oku had already collected 100 yards rushing, and a pair of scores including a 72-yard touchdown dash that saw him cut off the directed play to the left and with one cut to his right find nothing but green grass and a startling lack of white jerseys.

While there was little that could be done by the Hornets to slow down Oku, Titans head coach Gary Rose managed to find fault in his star player's performance.

"If you'd have been in better shape you could have had 300," Rose joked with Oku following the game.
