Receiver Grant on deck for ISU visit

Rivals.com lists Austin (Texas) Lyndon B. Johnson's Derrick Grant as a safety prospect, but based on early returns from college coaching staffs, the 6-foot-3, 191-pound Grant is likely destined for the wide receiver position in college. With two offers on his plate, Grant is prepping for his first official visit of the process.

"Next weekend we'll be up at Iowa State. We've had that set up since the summer," said Grant who talked about what he will be looking at most on his visit to ISU. "Probably first the education and how the atmosphere is on campus, what things there are to do and how I'll be able to fit in up there."

Iowa State and Rice are the two schools that have already offered Grant a scholarship, but he is also hearing from the likes of Colorado State, TCU, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Purdue. His decision to make Iowa State his first official visit destination had a lot to do with the Cyclones recruitment of him so far.
