Touted in-state junior lands Clemson offer

One of the top reasons Clemson's experienced staff has been able to do so well recruiting instate has been its uncanny ability to find and evaluate prospects early and provide the initial offer. The case can be made yet again for one of the Palmetto State's top juniors, Stephon Gilmore.

Did the 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete out of Rock Hill (SC) South Pointe receive his earliest written offer? If so, when?

"My first offer came last week on Friday before my game," Gilmore told Monday evening. "(Tight ends) coach (Billy) Napier sent it to me."
