Robey takes in Cats vs. Cards

Most fans who attend the annual Governor's Cup game between Kentucky and Louisville are firmly entrenched on one side of the battle lines. There are a few, however, who have split loyalties between the two in-state rivals.

Count Louisville (Ky.) Trinity standout Sam Robey among that group. He is the son of former Wildcat basketball star Rick Robey, but comes from a high school program that has strong ties to the Cardinals. Subsequently, he's torn between both schools in the recruiting process.

"Everybody knows about my dad and his background at UK and all that," Robey said, "but we're also close to (UofL athletics director) Tom Jurich and the UofL program because of Nick Petrino playing here. My dad's got friends on both sides. He still bleeds blue, but he doesn't put any pressure on me at all. He says I need to make my own decision based on what's best for me."
