Monday Notebook: The return of D'Imperio

Rutgers coasted to a 59-0 win over Norfolk State on Saturday, however Greg Schiano is still waiting to see if he may have lost the services of one of his running backs for the Maryland game. Here's a look at the aftermath of Rutgers' third win of the season.

Ailing Young

Sophomore Kordell Young left the game in the second half with a knee injury. The extent of the injury to Ray Rice's backup is still unknown.

"Right now Kordell is the guy I'm concerned about," said head coach Greg Schiano. "I don't have that much further information yet. Probably by tomorrow, we'll have a little bit more. I'm speculating that it's not anything surgical, but it might keep him out of our contest against Maryland. I got to see."

Mason could be the number two

With Young's status questionable, Mason Robinson will slide up to the number two spot behind Ray Rice. The coaching staff has complete confidence in the young freshman.

"We trust Mason," Schiano avowed. "Mason is our second team punt returner. He's a guy we have a great deal of trust in. I think it was great that he could play against Norfolk. You could tell he was a little nervous. As soon as he exhaled a little bit, you saw some of his talents shine through."
