Smith will be in Ann Arbor this weekend

New Brunswick (N.J.) safety Brandon Smith is one of the highest ranked prospects at a position of need Michigan is recruiting in the class of 2008. The nation's No. 89 player had said he was looking forward to a planned official visit there for Sept. 21., but has Michigan's slow start to the season put a damper on his excitement?

Michigan bounced back with a resounding win over Notre Dame 38-0 on Saturday, but that was not quite enough to alleviate all of Smith's concerns.

"Smith scheduled this official visit to Michigan back in August and said he has not wavered on plans to take the trip. His original plan was to fly there with friend and Michigan linebacker commitment J.B. Fitzgerald, who is also from New Jersey.
