Rod never considered replacing White at UM

MORGANTOWN-- WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez acknowledged on Tuesday that Pat White's performance against Maryland was less than stellar. Still, Rodriguez denied that he ever considered replacing White with backup Jarrett Brown for a series or two to help the dynamic junior regain his focus against the Terrapins.

"If it had ever gotten to the point where I thought he was (pressing), I would have sat him down and said, 'Pat, this is what's going on out there. Let's watch it,' because Jarrett is good enough to play. We could win with him. But there wasn't any point in the game
where I talked to Pat and he had that wide-eyed, 'I don't know what's happening' look," Rodriguez said.

White accounted for just 117 total yards and one touchdown while fumbling three times against Maryland. But while his 20th career start at quarterback for WVU was perhaps his least impressive, Rodriguez noted that White's play would not have stood out nearly as much had the junior from Daphne, Ala., not made a habit of performing at such a high level throughout his career.
