What we know about the Horns through four games
It is what it is.
That's what I think about this Texas Longhorn team. I want to say that the 2007 version of the Longhorns is a special team but it is not. Let me fix that - every year is special because it's football and you have seniors that have dedicated themselves to the program, but when talking of performance and possibility, it's not special.
It is easy to look at the Texas program and think that every year should be special. But to really think that way is unrealistic. Every program has ups and downs. The good thing about Texas under Mack Brown is that even the down years could be nine win seasons.
That is one of the things that made Florida State's run from the late 1980s through 2000, where they were ranked in the top four at the end of every year for more than a decade, so special. Even that came to an end.
The Texas Longhorns have played a schedule that has not seemed initially tough but over the course of the year, many people will come to think differently about Arkansas State and Central Florida.
Rice was, well, they were Rice and halftime was funny.
So what do we know? The Texas Longhorns won their first season, the non-conference schedule. Now they set sights on the Big 12. But what do we know?
