One expected visitor didn't make it to UGA

The University of Georgia was set to host three official visitors on campus this weekend, but only two ended up making the trip.

The prospects we expected to be in Athens this weekend were Rivals100 safety Rahim Moore, Rivals100 running back Dontavius Jackson and Florida scatback Carlton Thomas.

The two out-of-state prospects made it, but the Peach State back did not.

"I was not able to make it over there this weekend," Jackson informed us Sunday morning. "I was scheduled to visit them, but I was not able to make the trip."

Jackson has trimmed his list down to Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and LSU and many may wonder if this is a bad sign for the Dawgs.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound back quickly let us know that Georgia still has as good of a shot at his commitment as anyone.

"I am definitely going to reschedule the visit and I know Georgia will be there in the end," he stated.

An injury has held Jackson back a little over the past three week because of doctor appointments, cast issues and other minor difficulties, but he says he still plans to make his decision late in October or early in November.

He is scheduled to visit LSU next weekend and then Clemson on the weekend of October 20. Official visits to Alabama and Georgia are now in the works and a mid week visit is not ruled out.

Jackson still plans to make an early decision, graduate early and enroll at the school he commits to in January 2008.
