Spartans add Ohio DT

One of the top performers this summer at the Michigan State campo was defensive tackle prospect Jerel Worthy of Huber Heights Wayne High School in Ohio. SpartanMag.com has just learned that the 6-foot-2, 290-pound prospect has made a commitment to Head Coach Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans.

SpartanMag.com just received a text from Worthy in which he confirmed that he has made a commitment to the Green and White.

SpartanMag.com scouted Worthy the summer at the Michigan State camp and came away impressed. He was easily the best defensive tackle prospect in attendance. We rated him one of the top 10 performers at camp regardless of position.

Worthy selected the Spartans over offers from Nebraska, Cincinnati and Marshall.

We will have more on Worthy later today including quotes about his commitment.
