Tuesday practice report: Homecoming for some
The trip to play the University of Miami on Saturday at the Orange Bowl will be a homecoming for several of the North Carolina State players.
Second-year sophomore defensive end Willie Young and redshirt freshman free safety Javon Walker are both excited about coming home with a two-game winning streak and spots in the starting lineup.
Walker moved into the starting lineup in place of senior Miguel Scott, also a Miami native, and has helped the secondary come together.
Young split time with senior Littleton Wright at defensive end, but has become entrenched with 4.5 sacks the last two games, both wins over East Carolina and Virginia.
The South Florida duo is glad to be going home with the program on an upswing.
