NU Notes: Ganz has strong week of practice

Four years ago, junior Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz came to Nebraska with very little hype.

In fact, some would say NU took Ganz in their 2004 signing class just to fill a spot and meet a need at quarterback. Besides the Huskers, Ganz only had one other scholarship offer from Eastern Michigan.

As Ganz wrapped up his first week as Nebraska's starting quarterback, head coach Bill Callahan said it's no doubt been a rewarding week for him to see how far he has come in four years in the system.

"I am proud, I'm awfully proud of all of our guys, Joe especially," Callahan said. "He's hung in there. He's hung in there through some tough times where he's been a three, where he's been in competition and he's been disappointed. But that never broke his spirit.
