White must strike Heisman pose on his own

MORGANTOWN-The case for Mountaineer Pat White's Heisman campaign is no case after all.

Even though the junior 2006 Big East Offensive Player of the Year is the most valuable offensive hand on the 6th-ranked BCS Mountaineers, you will see no key chains, notepads, posters or even High Street billboards promoting the lithe lefthander from Daphne, Ala.

It is a non-Heisman campaign by design, according to WVU Assistant Athletic Director/Communications Michael Fragale.

Fragale sat in his Coliseum office Sunday afternoon ticking off names that are familiar to Gold and Blue football fans near and far: Consensus football All-Americans Grant Wiley, Steve Slaton and Dan Mozes.

Nagurski finalist Wiley and Rimington Award winner Mozes.

Did we mention that WVU that WVU is 49-13 overall, 25-6 since the first of those players, linebacker Wiley, graced head coach Rich Rodriguez's roster in 2003-04?
