Ball sees recruiting pick up

Wentzville (MO) Timberland running back Montee Ball had a breakout junior season on the field with over 3000 yards for the year and 32 TD's. The 5-foot-11 Ball said that as recruiting has started, he's been able to figure out the best places for him to start looking were the schools recruiting him the hardest.

With things early in the process, Ball said he had been amazed on how one day he may not have heard from a school, but the next day, he was suddenly receiving mail from them. He said that one of the first big decisions in recruiting was deciding between his plans for this past weekend. However, he understood that sometimes you had to proioritize where schools may sit.

At this point, Ball has yet to pick up an offer, but that fact didn't seem to bother him. He said one school was very close to becoming his first offer and that he could tell the interest from another school was growing with a visit to the school by its head coach. Either way, it was not the time to worry about offers in Ball's mind.

Ball said that the early attention had been nice, but it was also nice to see Missouri showing more interest. He said that there was a lot to like about the campus nearest to his house.

Ball said that even though he decided to head to iowa's junior day instead of Missouri's this past weekend, it didn't mean that the new attention from the Tigers wasn't exciting. He said that outside of the current trips he had scheduled this spring, the Tigers were one destination he couldn't miss.
