Three former five-stars reflect on signing day


National signing day is a rite of passage for college football players. Those who are new to the process quickly realize that they become one of the most popular kids in town. For months before signing day your phone rings off the hook, your in-box fills up with text messages, and coaches are constantly coming in and out of your house. We caught up with three former Seminoles, all five-star athletes who had their pick of any school in the country. In the end, all three chose Florida State, and all for different reasons.



Leon Washington: (2002-2005)



In 2002, there weren't many athletes in the country better than Leon Washington. He could play running back, receiver, and was fantastic at cornerback. When it came down to it, Florida's Mr. Football had to decide between FSU, Florida, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Maryland. In the end he decided to follow Bobby Bowden and suit up for the Garnet and Gold.
