Davis set for TCU junior day

db]Knile Davis[/db] is hot right now. Get too close and your likely to get burned. With scholarship offers flooding in and junior day invites clogging his mailbox, the talented running back took a few minutes to talk with PurpleMenace.Com Tuesday night to catch us up to speed on his recruitment.

["Man, it's going pretty good. I'm talking to coaches that I always dreamed about talking to and it's really nice. It's actually going real good."

If it sounds like the young man is enjoying the early attention, he is. It's early in the game but Davis is already sporting offers from the likes of TCU, Texas A&M, Missouri, Mississippi State, Houston and UCF. Couple that with Junior Day invites to TCU, Florida and Texas Tech and you can understand why this young man is on cloud nine.

"I'm going to TCU for their Junior Day on the 23rd and I'm also going to Florida for a Junior Day. Texas Tech invited me to one also but I won't be able to make that one" said Davis.

A very busy schedule lies ahead for Davis and he plans on taking his time with the process to insure that he makes the right decision.

"I'm waiting until signing day, I want to announce it then. I want to look at the different programs and see what they offer. I want to go somewhere that has good tradition, a strong program and somewhere that I fit in well with the other players."

With two high school teammates already on the TCU roster is might seem to some that TCU would have an advantage while attempting to land Davis.

"Nah, not really, but I've known Jai (Jai Cavness) since elementary school and I know Jeremy (Jeremy Coleman) well too. The main thing is I want to find somewhere that I feel comfortable."

With a flurry of early activity, Davis is learning to juggle schoolwork and the recruiting process. Schools are constantly stopping by to pick up video and to make themselves known. TCU was at Davis' high school a couple of weeks ago but Davis didn't speak with them at the time.

"The coaches came by my school to pick up my tapes but I didn't talk to them then, I did talk to coach Anderson on the phone later though and he seems like a real nice guy."

With signing day seemingly light years away, all Davis can do at this time is soak it all in. With the decision in place to wait until signing day to choose where he will play his college ball, that's exactly what he intends to do.
