A fresh start for Rivals100 tight end

Not only is Rivals100 tight end Orson Charles getting a lot of attention in recruiting from schools across the country, but he is busy at Plant High School learning a new system. Charles is at a new school and going through spring practice and he is excited about his future there.

"We had our first scrimmage last Friday and I think I did pretty good," said Charles. "They split up the teams and the team I was on had the back up OL's, but they played great."

"They blocked really well and they helped me get 10 catches and a touchdown. It was a lot of fun to get out there and play with the new teammates."

Charles transferred to Plant after moving into that district with his mother, so this is his first time practicing with the Panthers. So far, so good for the 6-foot-3, 230-pound tight end.

"I love it over here at Plant. I am very excited about the team and about the season coming up. We practice hard, we practice fast, and it was not like this at Ridgeview. I am enjoying everything about my new home."

His teammates have to be enjoying having him around too. Yes, Rivals100 quarterback Aaron Murry has already committed to the University of Georgia, Charles has schools stopping by daily to check on him. And when that happens, others get a chance to shine in front of them as well.

Plant has been practicing for over a week now and schools have been on the practice field daily eyeing Charles.

"FSU came out on the first day, then Miami, Tennessee, Ohio State, Georgia and some other schools came," he explained. "I don't know all of the schools that have been by because my coach is handling that."
