Summer workout program kicks off in the heat

Timing is everything.

The first day of Florida State's summer workout program happened to be on a day when the heat index eclipsed the 100 degree mark. Despite the oppressive heat, a large majority of the players held up nicely with only a couple falling out during the hour-long drills.

"This first day was tough," redshirt freshman defensive end Jamar Jackson admitted. "I got through it today but there were a couple times it almost got me. I was hot and it's just going to get hotter."
