South Florida gets three huge commits

It may be officially the year of the Bull. South Florida has come out swinging in the recruiting class of 2009, picking up several major prospects early on in the process including four-stars Bradley Battles and Adaris Bellamy along with three-stars Chase Griffiths and Kamran Joyer. This weekend the Bulls added three more major South Florida names to the list.

One of the most versatile and dynamic prospects in Florida is Hallandale Beach (Fla.) Hallandale athlete Victor Marc. Despite several other SEC, ACC and Big East offers, Saturday, Marc committed to South Florida at its one-day prospect camp.

"It was a real good experience," Marc said of the visit. "The coaching staff, the players, overall it just felt right. Yes, I committed to South Florida."

Marc came into the weekend knowing that there was a good chance a commitment could come but he wanted to make sure with the in-person visit.

"My intention was that I had a good feeling already but I came out there to make sure," he said. "I wanted to see for myself. I feel very good about the decision I just made."

Though Marc had expressed interest in some other programs, he said that he has been pondering a commitment to Jim Leavitt for some time.

"I've been thinking about it for a month or so," he said. "It was a real good process and I had to talk it over with my family to make sure it was the right decision."

Clearly, Marc and his family weren't the only ones that thought it was the right decision. Two of Marc's good friends out of the state also committed on Saturday: three-star cornerback Ricardo Dixon and four-star wide receiver James Green.

"Ricardo Dixon and James Green also committed," he said.

Did the two other prospects impact Marc's decision?

"Not really but I did talk to Ricardo once or twice and he felt the same way as I did," he said. "We just felt good about the staff and the players and everything about it."

The three highly-touted commitments continue to add an already monstrous 2009 class for South Florida.
