Coach: Taylor has all the skills

Reggie Taylor wasn't the best known or most highly recruited prospect when he committed to Auburn Tuesday.

But Peach County head coach Chad Campbell, who has seen Taylor develop from an undersized corner into a difference-maker on that side of the ball, said Auburn is getting a good one.

"He's really taken off the last couple of years," said Campbell. "You could tell early on he had some skills but his speed has gotten a lot better.

"He has all the skills that a defensive back coach is looking for. He's got a quick burst. He has good feet, good speed, good change of direction and good ball skills. He has a lot of knowledge on the football field and is a smart football player."

Campbell said Taylor was in his office when he made his commitment to Auburn.

"He was smiling from ear to ear and grinning," said Campbell. "You could tell it was a big moment for him and that's all he could talk about all day, 'I'm going to Auburn.'

"He's real excited about it and I told him afterwards that it's a big responsibility and a big commitment. He's going to be looked at in a different manner now. He's going to be looked at as a D-I commitment to Auburn and a lot comes with that."

One area that Campbell wants Taylor to focus on during his senior season is his open-field tackling.
