New offer for Brazinski

Just a week after backing out of his verbal commitment to Rutgers, four-star center Mark Brazinski has picked up a new offer.

The 6-foot-3, 297-pound prospect from Basking Ridge (N.J.) Immaculata turned some heads when he decided to open the recruiting process back up, and one school has already made a move.

North Carolina has decided to offer Brazinski, giving him yet another option for when he decides to make the final call.

"That's correct," Brazinski said, confirming the UNC offer. "I've known about it for a couple of days but I'm not one to talk about offers until I have them. I came home from football practice around 2:15, looked through the mail and it was there.

"I want to major in business so I did some research. According to U.S. News and World Report the Kenan-Flagler Business School is rated fourth overall in the country. That's very good since it's a career I'm looking to pursue.

"I went there in middle school and I remember it being very nice. I always thought Carolina blue looked nice."

How do the Tar Heels stack up against some of the other schools that have offered?

"Right now I'm pursuing all my options," he explained. "I'm probably going to try to take a visit to talk to the coaches and meet some of the players. We'll see what happens from there.

"Everything is open. I don't know if I'll take all five (official visits), but I'll definitely take some. The number is still up in the air. It's probably too early to say."

Brazinski now holds offers from schools like UNC, Rutgers, Boston College, Florida State and Pennsylvania.
