Was five-star Carroll impressed with CU?

Randall Carroll verbally committed to Southern Cal last September. But the five-star prospect from Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral decided shortly after his junior season that he would continue to look around and keep more of an open mind with recruiting process.

"Early on, no one else was talking to me, USC was the only school that was talking to me," said Carroll, who stands 5-foot-11, 175-pounds. "So I went with what I had on the table. And then other schools came along after that. But at first, it was only USC that I talked to."

Offers from colleges across the country began flooding in. UCLA, Florida State, Texas A&M, Colorado, Arizona, Cal, Auburn, Florida, Georgia were among the 26 programs that quickly joined the Randall Carroll sweepstakes.

To keep things from getting out of control, Carroll narrowed his list down to a manageable number. He said Monday night that he plans to take official visits to Colorado, Florida, Georgia and Texas A&M. Carroll has already been to Southern Cal a number of times unofficially.

Carroll got a chance to check out Boulder for the first time earlier this month.
