Bruins to host Bulldogs
How the times have changed across the landscaped of college football, when Fresno State enters the Rose Bowl to take on UCLA, the Bulldogs will be the favored team. Fresno State, under Pat Hill has enjoyed playing the Rodney Dangerfield of college football, playing the no respect card and by doing so have played the game with a huge chip on their shoulder.
Hill has often said, he and his team will play anybody, anywhere at any time so he could help the esteem of his program across the nation.
Now Hill will bring a nationally ranked team to play a Bruin squad that hasn't scored an offensive touchdown in their last two games. Still the Bruins should expect a Bulldog team to arrive with their large chip firmly in place.
The Bulldogs have won 13 games against BCS teams since 2000 and they have won three out of their last four and beating the Bruins would be a sweet notch on their BCS belt because they have had very little success with UCLA over the years.
The Bulldogs have only beaten the Bruins once in seven tries, and never at the Rose Bowl. Fresno State did beat the Bruins in their last meeting 17-9 in 2003 Silicon Bowl.
