ISU giving Hargrett much to think about

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern running back Daquan Hargrett committed to West Virginia this past summer, but the 5-foot-9, 180-pound back is still taking official visits to other programs. His first trip took place the weekend of Oct. 3 to Iowa State. Now nearly a month removed from that trip, Hargrett admits the Cyclones loom large in his mind.

"It really impressed me and really opened my eyes about the school," Hargrett said. "Coming from where I come from, when you think Iowa you think it's boring and real cold, but it's an amazing school, phenomenal coaches and phenomenal facilities."

At this point, Hargrett has just one other official visit scheduled - to West Virginia for the weekend of Nov. 7 - but he plans others. Still, he expects Iowa State to be heavily involved in his decision process until the end.

"Iowa State plays a big role in my head because they really opened my eyes and showed me how things can be and what could happen. I'm going to keep them in mind while making my decisions," he said. "Troy also is a pretty good school and Clemson. I think it will come down to a couple of those schools. I'm still leaning towards West Virginia, but you never know at that moment what I could do."
