Elite junior returning to action
It was a tough few weeks for Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O'Hara junior running back Corey Brown, watching his teammates take the field each week as he watched from the sidelines nursing an injury.
Now the 6-foot, 171-pound back is ready to return to action and he couldn't be more excited. His rehab went well and he should be ready to go at almost 100-percent.
"I'm finished (with rehab)," Brown explained. "I practiced today for the first time since the injury. It feels good. I have a brace on it so it's okay. We've got a playoff game this week so I'm going to be ready for that."
Before his injury Brown had already received an impressive list of offers from schools like Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Tennessee and West Virginia, among others.
That list has grown, even while he has been standing on the sidelines and out of action.
"I actually have more offers now," Brown said. "There are about five more right now. UCLA is going to offer and I have offers from Florida, Cal, Oregon and Auburn. Vandy says they're going to offer but who knows?
"I actually do have some favorites. In no order it would be Ohio State, Rutgers, Florida, Penn State, UCLA and Alabama. I don't have an offer from Alabama yet, though."
Brown said he has not yet been contacted by the Alabama coaches. Nonetheless, he has a high level of interest in the Crimson Tide and has been impressed with the quick turnaround orchestrated by second-year coach Nick Saban.
He also said he would like to attend Rutgers' last home game, against Louisville.
